On September 18, the local self-government elections were held in 317 communities of 5 marzes of Armenia. We have received phone calls from voters from various precincts of Tavush marz.
They were expressing concern that the number of invalid ballots will be high. Simultaneously, elections for the community leader and council are held in many communities and the voters are given two envelopes. The yellow envelope contains a light yellow ballot paper with the names of the candidates for the community leader.
And the white color envelopes contained white ballot papers with the names of the candidates for the community council. Elderly voters who have vision problems, after voting mistakenly drop the yellow ballot papers in white envelopes, because of which the ballots are considered invalid during the counting of votes.
