The parliamentary candidate for the “Tsarukyan” Alliance, Michael Melkumyan, talked about the election campaign program of the Alliance at the “Pastark” press club, saying that it is possible to raise the minimum wages and the pensions without populism, and all the necessary calculations and planned actions are available.
Melkumyan explained the arguments that, for example, one percent economic growth is necessary for raising the pensions, “This one percent is eighteen billion. If we raise the pensions, the pensioner has so many needs that he will pay and this amount will go back to the budget thru taxes in three months.” Melkumyan also talked about the mining industry, saying that miners having huge profits pay a very small amount to the budget while it is necessary to elaborate a correct level for the use of the subsoil, “The subsoil is not for getting super-profits and the pensions remain the same.” According to Michael Melkumyan’s calculations, it is also possible to lower the gas and electricity rates.
