NKR President’s spokesman Davit Babayan informed Aravot.am that during the latest hours the situation on the border is “an everyday one”: they fire as usually, there is not an extraordinary case present. We reminded him that after the previous year’s April escalations this is the first case when the Azerbaijani military forces apply TR-107 multi-barrel rocket launcher and asked whether April events’ recurrence is possible. Mr. Babayan replied: “This is a terrorist operation. They have been preparing for that war for 22 years. Their objective has been Artsakh destruction. Attack of local character is of no sense to them. Currently, hardly all these will lead to large-scale war operations, but we are always ready to protect the motherland.”
Referring to the response of the international public, Davit Babayan, of course welcomed that they have responded operatively, given importance to the peaceful settlement, regarded the use of force impermissible, but noted that the response towards Azerbaijan should have been more precisely addressed and tough, forasmuch as: “what has happened is because of the misanthropic and terroristic policy.”
Davit Babayan is concerned that Azerbaijan, by this kind of behavior, continues its terroristic-criminal policy, which endangers sustainability and peace: “Applying such type of weapon they have not achieved any goal, military-political operation target. This is simply a terrorism. If they apply different kinds of weapons not having an ultimate goal and continue such destructive policy, then this already brings forth concerns. True that we nullify their aggressive aspirations, but the international public should also pay a serious attention to all this.”
Asked whether Azerbaijan will manipulate the murder of the 2 aged child in Alxanli village on the international arena, Mr. Babayan answered: “They will manipulate. The loss of any child is a tragedy itself, regardless of the nation. Solely the abnormal people can be happy with such victims. But the problem is that here we see manipulations once again. First and foremost, the Azerbaijani side uses its own population as a target. They have a rich experience in massacring the public and accusing Armenians of all that. The most vivid example is Khojaly – self-genocide, that they have made and try to blame on Armenian people in it until today. The same took place in April, when 300.000 Azerbaijani people left the territories nearby Artsakh border and the abandoned houses were robbed by Azerbaijani army, Turkish militants and the terrorists of the Islamic State. People who had managed to remain alive were killed, raped and again Armenians are to blame. Especially, we now have data showing that the population has left that Azerbaijani village in panic and in masses and it is not excluded that the army would have entered their houses, robbed them, killed them for not a single witness remain alive and would have thought – there is nothing to be worried about, we will blame on Armenians again. This is a disgusting thing, impermissible, this is a shame. Here as well we see the same dirty style which the Aliyev clan implements through the lives of its own people.”
