“Azerbaijan tries to provide a more beneficial diplomatic field for itself via diplomatic “maneuvers”, forasmuch as they can wait for the Co-Chairs to try to recommence the negotiation process in Autumn. Azerbaijan, in turn, will try to strengthen its positions in the region”, informed Turkologist and Orientalist Ruben Safrastyan, referring to the possibility of the recommencement of negotiations of Artsakh conflict settlement.
He thinks that the negotiation process will recommence in Autumn and via what document, it is difficult to say: “The US, for example, will show a bigger activeness in the settlement if the conflict.”
As stated by the speaker, opposite to the political and economic struggle, the interests of Russia and the US in Artsakh conflict are not in a sharp contradiction: “Both are interested that the issue does not enter into a phase of military actions.”
