A row of Members of the Parliament factually condemned the General Prosecutor of inaction by bringing up concrete examples in the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia today.
“Yelq” bloc MP Lena Nazaryan spoke up on the case of March 1: “They still try to disclose the persons who immediately committed the murders of 10 people. The preliminary investigation cannot uncover whose Cheryomukha-7 from 4 officers, whose names are known, has shot Gor Koloyan, Armen Farmanyan, Tigran Khachatryan dead. The previous 10 years are failed within the history of investigative body and Prosecutor’s Office, from the perspective of March 1 case. The investigation does not try to unveil if the illegal decisions and orders of the political and military authorities of that time could be a ground for the murders. And the first person to give an order of shooting was the second president of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan who, by the way, you, Mr Prosecutor, reject to question to disclose from where Kocharyan has the information that the protesters have shot on the police officers from behind the bus. Meanwhile, the results of the forensic medical examinations show no officer with gunshot wound was in place and the Chairman of the Special Commission of the National Assembly, Samvel Nikoyan confirmed it during the public hearings on March 1 case.”
Lena Nazaryan reminded that the ECHR has required submitting evidence that the protesters have shot the officers. No suchlike evidence was represented: “There is no such evidence in place. If you cannot receive the answer of this question from the witness, Mr Davtyan, then withdraw from your liabilities, inasmuch as you spend those opportunities in vain.”
