As it already has been informed, on July 3, 2018, on the basis of sufficient evidence obtained during the preliminary investigation of the criminal case on the events that took place in Yerevan from March 1 to March 2, 2008, a decision was made to involve the former Minister of Defense of the Republic of Armenia, Colonel General Mikayel Harutyunyan as an accused according to the Part of Article 1 of Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
On 03.07.2018 a petition was presented to the court to choose detention as a preventive measure against him. On the same day the court satisfied the petition. Detention has been chosen to be a preventive measure against Mikayel Harutyunyan. The preliminary investigation is underway.
