According to political scientist Aghasi Yenokyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan managed to deliver two important messages during his visit to Brussels. “The first message was that the West has a crucial role in the settlement of the Karabakh issue. Until now, we have seen only pro-Russian policy, and now it has been said that the West has its own role too”, said Aghasi Yenokyan.
The second message, according to the political scientist, was that the role of Armenia as a democratic country for the West was highlighted. The main point in this message, according to the political scientist, is that the West should support the democratic country, instead of Azerbaijan, which is a totalitarian country.
In general, the speaker said that Nikol Pashinyan’s visit to Brussels was of essential importance for Armenia. He is sure that Armenia’s role in the West has become more important after the Brussels meeting.
According to the political scientist, the West is interested in Nikol Pashinyan, and the latter’s legitimacy allows him to make nonpopular steps.
