Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces fired near the Areni village of Armenia. We suppressed Azerbaijan’s shots through retaliation, Press Secretary of the Armenian Ministry of Defense Artsrun Hovhannisyan told Sputnik Armenia.
“The situation is similar to what happened in Tavush, but there were fewer gunshots. They fired using rifles, but unlike in Tavush, the gunshots didn’t reach the village,” Hovhannisyan said.
According to him, there are gardens belonging to villagers near the border. The Azerbaijanis’ attempted shots were suppressed, just as in Tavush. Hovhannisyan said that the Azerbaijani army usually shoots in the late evening or during the afternoon, depending on when people go out to work in the fields. This time, they fired during the evening of September 15th.
