May 21,2019 22:28

The World Dance Competition was held for the first time in Armenia at the Pharaoh Hall in Abovyan. Some of the world’s best dance couples until 21 years old participated in the competition.

The event was supposed to take place in Turkey. However, the Armenian Dance Sport Federation informed the international federation about the wonderful conditions that the Pharaoh Hall would provide. Thus, the event was allowed to take place in Armenia.

The head of the Armenian Dance Sport Federation, Gevorg Markosyan, told Aravot Daily in an interview that he wishes to express his gratitude to the President of the National Olympic Committee of Armenia, Gagik Tsarukyan, who provided the hall and its services for free to the dancers participating in the competition and to their guests. “It is important that this competition was held in Armenia. Our athletes are also participating and this will give them the opportunity to gain experience competing against some of the best in the world,” the expert said.
