EU to participate in Eastern Partnership Investment Summit in London

EU NEIGHBOURS. On 22 November, the EU will actively participate in the Eastern Partnership (EaP) Investment Summit in the British capital, London.

Organised by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the event is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership initiative.

This one-day summit at EBRD’s London headquarters will bring together the Heads of State and/or government, high-level EU and European Investment Bank (EIB) representatives, international investors and entrepreneurs to network and identify new business opportunities in the six countries of the Eastern Neighbourhood region.

According to the EBRD, confirmed participants currently include the President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Asadov, the Prime Minister of Belarus, Sergei Roumas, the Prime Minister of Georgia, Giorgi Gakharia, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Oleksiy Honcharuk, and EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn. EBRD President Suma Chakrabarti will open the event.

Panel sessions will focus on the countries’ investment climates, investment trends and opportunities, highlight the EBRD’s activities and impact, outline the EU and EIB views on the regions and feature discussions of investors on a wide range of issues in various sectors of the economy.
