How many people stayed in Armenia after the pandemic and the war

According to the Statistical Committee, there are 3,600 more people living in Armenia than there were last year during the same period of time.

At the beginning of 2021, the population of Armenia consisted of 2,963,300 people. 1,895,600 people live in urban communities, and 1,067,700 people live in rural communities. The Statistical Committee of Armenia published data regarding the population.

During the same time period last year, the population of Armenia consisted of 2,959,700 people, of which 1,892,100 lived in Yerevan. In other words, there are 3,600 more people living in our country in 2021.

According to the same source, Yerevan has the highest population. The capital city has a population of 1,091,700 people.

After Yerevan, the Armavir Province has the largest population. 264,000 people live in the province, of which 181,500 live in rural communities. Within the Armavir Province, most people- 133,400- live in the Ejmiatsin region. The least, 8,400, live in Metsamor. 46,400 people live in the city of Vagharshapat.

The Ararat Province has the third highest population in our country. 256,600 people live there, of which 184,600 live in villages. The majority of the province’s population is centralized in the Ararat region, where 87,600 people live. At the moment, 19,100 people live in Artashat, which is the capital of the province. Vedi has the smallest population in the province, which consists of 11,800 people.

251,200 people live in the Kotayk Province. 136,800 people live in urban communities, and 114,400 live in rural communities. The Hrazdan region has the highest population, where 82,500 people live. Tsaghkadzor has the smallest population of 1,200 people.

231,000 people live in the Shirak Province, of which 95,800 live in rural communities. 112,100 people live in Gyumri alone, which is the capital of the province. 5,400 people live in Maralik.

In the middle of 2021, the population of the Lori Province consisted of 212,600 people. 76,900 people live in Vanadzor, the capital of the province. The second most densely populated community in Lori is the Tumanyan region, where 37,700 people live. Shamlugh city has the smallest population in the region of 600 people. 1,400 people live in the city of Tumanyan.

135,800 people live in the Syunik Province. The Kapan region has the densest population. 56,100 people live in the settlements of Kapan. The next most densely populated region in Syunik is Goris, where 40,000 people live. 29,300 people live in the Sisian region. Dastakert has the smallest population in the Syunik Province; 300 people live in that city. 4,200 people live in Meghri.

48,100 people live in the Vayots Dzor Province. The majority of the province’s population, 31,300 people, lives in the Yeghegnadzor region. 16,800 people live in the Vayk region alone. Four thousand people live in Jermuk.

120,500 people live in the Tavush Province, of which 50,600 live in urban communities and 69,900 live in rural communities. The Ijevan region has the highest population in Tavush. 47,200 people live there. Ijevan is the capital city of Tavush, where 20,000 people live. 17,200 people live in Dilijan. 27,100 people live in the Noyemberyan region, and 7,100 people live in the city of Berd.

As of this year, 124,500 people live in the Aragatsotn Province. The majority of the population lives in the Ashtarak region, where 58,300 people currently live. 21,100 people live in the Aparan region. The city of Talin has the smallest population in Aragatsotn, where 4,000 people live.
