“Every day we must do everything to make visiting Artsakh an obligation. If they went for fun in the past, now they have to go and be with the people of Artsakh so they do not think about leaving the next day,” said political scientist Tevan Poghosyan at the October 22 discussion on “Threats to Armenia and Artsakh and Ways to Overcome Them.”
He said that the government comes out every day and says that we have done so many social programs, but is that money directed to keep the people of Artsakh there? Tevan Poghosyan had a question- do we have the perception of the Artsakh Republic? “Do we have an interstate friendship committee with Artsakh in the National Assembly? As far as I know, it is on paper, but has not been implemented. How many months has this National Assembly been functioning? It must be initiated. We must adopt a law on the occupation of Azerbaijan in Artsakh and spread it around the world.”
According to him, Turkey and Azerbaijan have a plan and the dream of the great Turan, and we must form our national dream, not tear ourselves apart from the enemy. “Azerbaijan’s dream should not come true and go there to see Artsakh with 25 thousand people. On the contrary, Azerbaijan will go and see Artsakh, which has a population of 180,000.”
He urged people to think and form a new national awakening. Expert on Azerbaijani affairs Angela Elibegova said that, unfortunately, we have citizens who have come to terms with the situation and are ready to live in a condescending and fearful attitude. She urged people to work with society and keep the desire for revenge alive, because after the war, the hatred of Armenians has not disappeared. The Azerbaijanis have got rid of the loser complex and the propaganda of hatred has intensified. The aggression is uncontrollable.
