“What did you do so the Russians wouldn’t leave you alone? Did you fight for your country?” The question of opposition figure to Nikol Pashinyan

January 04,2023 14:02

“When you quote Tumanyan, do you do it after reading his writings?” Tumanyan wrote a simple and profound quatrain about you and your colleagues with whom you want to be friends today, Nikol Pashinyan:

The blood-mouthed man-eater and the idler…” said at a meeting with journalists at the “Hayeli” press club, former Ambassador to Poland, and the member of the “Unification” movement Edgar Ghazaryan, analyzing Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s New Year’s message.

Edgar Ghazaryan recalled Pashinyan’s sentence that “we are fighting to have a sovereign and concrete state” and asked what “concrete” state he was referring to;  “It turns out that our state was abstract until now?” Does he understand the state only in his office? Look at the state of the state you lead. He says that “we are moving from the country of Nairi to RA with a particular shape of 29,800 sq/km, which is a difficult road for statehood”…first, who measured that 29,800 sq/km and how? Does Jermuk come into it? You went to Jermuk with your Civil Contract; why didn’t you climb the mountains? Can you set foot on the 29,800 sq/km you mentioned? Or are you implying that Artsakh is no longer RA?”

Edgar Ghazaryan also mentioned that if Nikol Pashinyan wants to hug the compatriots of Artsakh, as he said in his speech, he can go to Artsakh and hug them right now.

“Let him go and hug; who’s stopping him?” Before the war, you used to go and give speeches. Go and hug them with your bodyguard, the “Erato” squad, and the red berets accompanying you.”

Edgar Ghazaryan believes that the most dangerous part of Pashinyan’s message is the following:

“The aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia from May 2021 to September 13, 2022, was doubly painful because our security allies left us alone, preferring to remain in passive observer status or offering active observer status as an alternative. But we were not alone in the world, and I want to thank those countries and international organizations who were not indifferent to this situation and, having no obligation to our country, took unprecedented decisions to support the establishment of security and stability in our region.”

According to Edgar Ghazaryan, when Pashinyan says that the allies left us alone, he means Russia, and thanks is a reference to the countries that allegedly helped with their statements. “What did they help with?” If they helped, was the road to Artsakh opened due to their help? Has any problem been solved, or have they enabled you to hand over Artsakh to Azerbaijan? Or, what did you do so that the Russians wouldn’t leave you alone? Did you fight for your country? You disrupted CSTO’s aid to RA, which was an observation and diplomatic, military package.
