Ruben Vardanyan, the former Minister of State of Artsakh, answered his followers’ questions on the “Armenian Life” telegram channel.
Question: Are you going to continue your political activities in Armenia?
Ruben Vardanyan: You live in illusions and need to realize that here in Artsakh, 10-20 food trucks arrive in Artsakh instead of 400 trucks that used to come from Armenia every day. About 30,000 people are under siege: children, women, and older. What are you talking about? Do you realize that the people living on their land are in danger of extinction? We risk completely losing Artsakh, which has a vast cultural and historical heritage. What can we think about now: politics, business…?
You have to realize that we live in different worlds. You live in a world where many things happen, but life is more or less normal. We are living in total lockdown. Understand we are talking about two different worlds. In our world, we fight for the right to live on our land. We are fighting here for the right to raise our children; everything else is secondary. Everything you discuss, politics and other things, do not help Artsakh; they are meaningless. It’s a matter of life and death here.”

Ruben Vardanyan called on all Armenians to realize the seriousness of the moment. He reminded us that when he compared the situation around Artsakh on September 2 of last year with the battle of Sardarapat, he did not say so for no reason. “We are standing on the brink of disaster. If we do not realize this together and do everything every day, how will we be able to help preserve Artsakh so that people can continue to live here, raise their children and live a normal life,” added Vardanyan.
