The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Zareh Sinanyan, is on a working visit to France.
On April 24, as part of his visit, he took part in the closing ceremony of the conference “Memory, Heritage and Future: Rethinking, Shaping, and Passing on Armenia,” held in Avignon, France, as part of the “Armenian Days” cultural events.
At the event, the High Commissioner delivered welcoming remarks, highlighting the importance of such initiatives in preserving Armenian identity, passing on cultural heritage, and fostering unity within diaspora communities. Deputy Mayor of Avignon, Michael McManus-Schouchana, also addressed the audience.
Following the speeches, a reception was held, during which he engaged with members of the Armenian community, local authorities, and event participants.
He expressed his gratitude to the Municipality of Avignon for its effective cooperation with the Armenian community, voicing confidence that this partnership will continue to grow through new programs and initiatives.

On April 25, accompanied by Nelli Margarian, Head of the Armenian Cultural Center of Avignon, and members of the organization, the High Commissioner visited the Armenian khachkar memorial in the city, where he laid a wreath and paid tribute to the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
On the same day, he also attended a concert by the Armenian music group “Nor Achough,” organized as part of the “Armenian Days” events. The concert brought together members of the Armenian communities of Avignon and surrounding areas, as well as French guests.
