Margarit Yesayan “The rest are narrow personal, or narrow political minor games.”

February 17,2014 22:09

“I think the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at VHD Congress was expected, because this entire turmoil around the funded pension law, the people’s discontent, and claims eventually demanded a respond and the response was given by the president, personally. In any country, the leadership of the country is at the most aware of the country’s economic problems, real economic policy and etc., because he was the one that is the policy maker and performer, and, if this-or-that government decision causes discontent in its initial phase, it does not mean that the decision is bad, or the passed laws are bad. I think it means one thing, the community is not well informed, and not possibly comprehensive answers are given to all people’s concerned questions. Consequently, the President Sargsyan, personally participating in public awareness process, explained to his people that the law on funded pension and its enforcement has no alternative, that, yes, if today it is not particularly accepted openly, it does not mean that it can not be accepted,” said RPA MP Margarit Yesayan, referring to Serzh Sargsyan’s speech at the VHD Congress. Answering the question of Aravot.am of why the President of Armenia decided to put the question so sharp without considering people’s voice, discontent of youth, protests and rallies, emphasized that willingly or unwillingly the law on funded pension will function, Margaret Yesayan said, “Please note that the President of Armenia was quite candid in his answers, and demonstrating a political will he even said that we realize that introducing this law we are losing a political resource, we realize that most people are unhappy with it, but we assure you that it will provide its fruits, and the youth in their more mature age, when getting to the retirement, they will fully understand and appreciate the positive impact of this system. In fact, this may be considered a law tended to the future.” We also asked Mrs. Yesayan whether the President Serzh Sargsyan’s another statement about Armenia’s membership to the CU was not as drastic, as in this issue as well, it is obvious that the vast majority of our society tends not to CU, but the Europe. In response to this question, the MP said, “Why sharp, in my assessment, it was quite open and frank, everything that was said by Serzh Sargsyan, yes, no matter we will join the CU, or not, there will be no sharp increase in the prices of consumer goods, and is it bad that there will be no sharp rise in prices, or is it a secret that a number of political forces, some huffy figures are continuously speak trying to make a mountain out of a molehill, this is also known, and the President talked about the reality. The rest are narrow personal or narrow political games, which being used, some people and forced deprived of political capital are trying to keep themselves on the platform. In fact, I think there is no need to remind you that the minor game is from the folklore genre and has nothing to do with real politics.”
