Do the new Government staff have shortage of knowledge?

May 03,2014 17:34

As per estimate of Heritage faction Political Secretary Styopa Safaryan, Armenia is switching over to a “neither…nor” foreign policy. According to him, the claims by the authorities that they are exercising the policy of “both…and” does not meet the reality. Today, in “Pastark” club, Stepan Safaryan noted that for setting Armenia’s political problems, a time-out period has begun as of April 4. “‘No’ to European Association policy, ‘no’ to the Customs Union.” Referring to the formation of the government, S. Safaryan said that no matter how well the public knows the appointed ministers, however, we need to come to a conclusion, given that tomorrow is the deadline of the formation of the government. “So, we can draw conclusions. I consider this government an oligarchic government for a number of reasons. Substantial part of the appointees, directly or indirectly, is involved in major businesses, which also has a political power and, consequently, the tasks set to them, in this sense, become noteworthy.” Mr. Safaryan explained that by saying problems he meant the economic growth and the planned reforms focused on people’s trust, “Assignments that as minimum tasks were formulated by Serzh Sargsyan on April 4, at the Central Bank”. According to him, Armenia needs reforms, but the current government staff will be unable to implement these reforms. “Therefore, I do not see that they will be changing the rules of the game of Armenia’s socio- economic policy… they do not have adequate knowledge either.” As for the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly, he said that it was not a surprise for him, and with regard to the single approach of the magnificent Quartet, he considered it a result of a lack of agenda. Referring to recent statement made by the Republican Party Spokesman Eduard Sharmazanov that in the next ten years, the Republican Party is the only way for those who have serious political ambitions, Safaryan said that he gained the impression that is was an anti-presidential statement. “If he is talking about the necessity to restore people’s trust, I do not think that it’s a step for restoration when the Republican Party Spokesperson is stating, “You can’t get rid of us”” he said and qualified this message as anti-presidential.
