Today, Aravot.am asked the RPA MP Sukias Avetisyan that if the former Prime Minister, Tigran Sargsyan, truly, is not associated with the famous offshore story, then why the competent authorities, the RPA, so far have not presented substantial evidences to the public, and have not cleaned off his name.
He replied. “It refers to the person, Tigran Sargsyan. He has made a statement, and there is no need for all RPA party members or all politicians make the same statement, one by one. The man said, his name was mentioned, and he said that he is not associated with is, he gave a clear explanation at the National Assembly with his statement. Now what is the matter about?”
To our observation that it is not the statement but at least the relevant authorities could present proven facts, so that there is no doubt left in the public, the RPA MP replied, “If there is a file opened in the Prosecution office and the Special Investigation Service, and Tigran Sargsyan is not in this lawsuit, then why should they do? What’s the matter that they keep talking about it? What sense does it make? That’s why I say that it is just a political order to one more time form a certain opinion among the public about the ruling party. But, the people already understand well these opinion-makers, the false opposition, and fake politicians. I think that our people is not anymore the kind that accepts everything for sure.”
To our question that Tigran Sargsyan’s biography has been before the public eye, everyone has seen how he has held various public offices and has accumulated private wealth in the meantime. In your opinion, if he had relied on the salary, with no businesses, with no engagement in corrupt transactions, whether he could become so rich, Sukias Avetisyan replied, “I have not analyzed it. Who has analyzed, let them express their opinions. Nevertheless, I know that how long he has been in the political arena, Tigran Sargsyan has always taken the leading position, he was the president of the Central Bank for many years, etc. I think working so many years, he could have had the opportunity to have such a wealth.”
