The idea of the Turkish authorities, “on the contrary” to have their own event on April 24, I would not say it was a brilliant idea. Any steps that aim to distract attention from something, willing or not, draw people’s attention to the event that you wish were obscured. If you have committed a crime it is better, of course, that you admit your guilt. But if you are not ready to admit, it is preferable to keep silence. The worst version is to organize a ” party “on the crime`s day. It is also an indirect way of confessing the crime.
Turkey`s the only benefit will be, that we, Armenians, think about the fact who goes to ” criminal`s party” and who comes to Armenia. On the basis of our national character, it is very likely that we shall keep malice towards the countries that sent the delegations to the Gallipoli events and begin to shame them. In fact, I am not, for example, particularly excited that Djibouti, South Sudan or Chad first persons will be at Gallipoli. Although they are quite warm countries, but these countries presence or absence does not make any sunny for us. I certainly am for the friendship, but friendship with Chad is probably not the main priorities of our foreign policy.
Of course this is the case with the European countries. For example, the fact that Turkey is visited by almost all the countries of the former Yugoslavia but the Serbian president visits Armenia, talks about the geopolitical sense, some things do not change. Remember, in particular, that the one of the main stages in the First World War was in Balkans, and the occasion was a shot fired in Sarajevo.
The British policy has not undergone any significant change during 100 years. This country’s fleet still cannot climb up our Highland, but it takes great pleasure from swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, detecting oil flows. Unexpected and at least for me, is not so clear positive twist in Germany and Austria, which were also allies of Turkey 100 years ago.

Russia continues to be our ally in one way or another, though, as “reliable” as it was a century ago.
But in all cases to count how many people have gone here and there, and on that ground to start a race is pointless. This is the case when quality is more important than quantity.
