“Formatting the state”

June 17,2015 17:29

This requires “uploading” a new thinking

One of my acquaintances who is involved in politics, in response to my question about his affairs, said that it is impossible to reform our state nor “do a restart.” The only thing that is possible for the state called a “Republic of Armenia” is “formatting” and “uploading” new software.

Unfortunately, the state is a more complex organism than the computer, because there is a human factor here, and people cannot “restart” and reload the content of their brain, nor, moreover, delete everything and input new software, ideas and values. On September 21, 1991, we have approached with our load of personal and genetic memory, have transferred this load to our children and grandchildren, and now to amend this “software” is extremely difficult and in many cases, a thankless task.

The meaning of this “software” if briefly formulated is as follows: a leader of Armenia is appointed from a “center” (regardless of how it is called), this leader and his entourage is granted the right and the opportunity to rule us, to take and use their due “trophy”, and the only problem is that this person be honest, decent, and “patriot”, use the rights granted from the center (above) with “conscience” and allow “the people to live a little bit.”

“Formatting” the state based on the vast majority of citizens is impossible and excluded. Not bearing any responsibility for the situation of the state, to be sure that this situation is conditioned by some people’s good or evil willing appointed from outside, to cherish a hope that the center would appoint a kind and honest man to “format” the state, by and large, means living by the rules of this state.

This is how not only the citizens of the state live but also the majority of political forces, who in the case of having serious pretensions of power should go to Moscow to “get the Go Ahead.” (Should they go to Washington, the “software”, naturally, would not be changed). And as to who accepts them there: Zhirinovsky, or let’s say, Smbat Karakhanyan, it depends on their “weight”.

However, I think that in addition to persuading people that justice and prosperity can only be created in the state created by you and led by you, perhaps, it is also worth thinking about the change in the name of the state in the future. The French, for example, are living in the 5th Republic, meaning, perhaps, that the last four failed in this or that sense. Naming the state a “Fourth Republic”, indeed, is not a salvation, but there is a psychological moment here. When a significant change in people’s thinking is noticed, it is possible that it would be an additional impetus for strengthening these changes.

I must immediately say that the Fourth Republic would not be born by substituting Serzh Sargsyan with another person or due to some posters substitutions on “constitutional amendments”.
