If we are minority government in Parliament, we are majority government beyond the Parliament: Nikol Pashinyan

May 10,2018 14:45

“The day before yesterday I had invited the president of State Revenue Committee and given him a very precise and indubious order that obstacles for the import of any type of good should be excluded,” informed Nikol Pashinyan, the PM of the Republic of Armenia, during the press conference invited in Stepanakert, yesterday. According to Pashinyan, the clearance of imported products should be carried out double,  triple times faster than before. “I am going to check the implementation of this order tomorrow and I am hopeful it will be properly realized,” he mentioned.

As regards Armenian-Turkish relations, Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia is ready for the establishment of those relations without preconditions: “Turkey has preconditions in that issue, which is illogical. It is illogical that a precondition implying relations with a third country underlies the establishment of relations between two countries. To remain loyal to the agenda of the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide at the same time, which is more linked to the directive of the prevention of genocides, than Armenian-Turkish relations.

“If we are a minority government in the Parliament, then we are a majority government beyond the Parliament. If we put the majority we maintain on the scale, putting the majority we do not have on the other, I think the majority we maintain will overweight the parliamentary majority for dozens of times, if not hundreds. In the same way, as I was a candidate for the PM’s position nominated by the majority, our government is going to be the government of that majority with all direct and indirect consequences stemming from it,” summed up the PM.
