Jirair Sefilian, who had been keeping silence since his release from detention, gave an interview today. The leader of the “Founding Parliament”, commander of Shushi special military battalion announced that the FP is going to participate in the upcoming extraordinary parliamentary elections after the conference of “Armenian Constructive Party”. “Today forward we get prepared,” mentioned Jirair Sefilian.
He did not explain what format of participation they were going to adopt and how they estimated their chances of passing to the Parliament, also what proposals they had relative to the amendments to the Electoral Code, inasmuch as the “Founding Parliament” had not discussed them yet.
“The “Founding Parliament” and “Sasna Tsrer” get prepared for the upcoming free and fair elections today forward,” announced Jirair Sefilian.
According to Jirair Sefilian they still have to decide when to turn the FP into a party and whether to cooperate with the incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s “Civic Agreement” party. “As regards the incumbent authorities, we have announced about our support to “My Step” movement still in the prison,” summed up Jirair Sefilian.
