“There are more emotions in rallies than logic. “Armenian National Congress” rallies are exception where Levon Ter-Petrossian makes political assessments”, referring to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s rally scheduled for August 17, where he will sum up 100 days of his tenure, said political scientist Armen Badalyan. “It would be logical if he summed up his tenure in a hall, inviting party activists and well-known journalists and made a report on live-stream”, he assured.
According to Armen Badalyan, choosing the rally option, the Prime Minister wants to show that the revolution continues: “Meanwhile, it should have already been over. Keeping in touch with the people is possible in other ways too. Rally is based more on receiving emotional responses, when you have nothing to say”.
According to the expert, the weakest side of the new government headed by Nikol Pashinyan is the following: “It does not have a perspective on Armenia’s development, whether what Armenia should be like in 10-15 years. Moreover, there are no discussions on that in the government. For example, experts could gather and discuss what kind of economic strategy should be developed, which points of the Constitution should be changed, etc.”.
