Aravot.am held an interview with “Tsarukyan” alliance member of parliament and Gagik Tsarukyan’s spokesperson Iveta Tonoyan.
– Mrs. Tonoyan, the “Civil Contract” spokesperson, Vahan Kostanyan, referring to Gagik Tsarukyan’s statements that he was a supporter of the revolution from the beginning and that he sent water to the protestors, said he doesn’t know anyone who drank that water. What do you have to say about that statement?
– First, I want to note that Gagik Tsarukyan was referring to his full support during the revolution, and he wasn’t simply referring to his sending water to protestors. I understand that some people and political forces are taking Gagik Tsarukyan’s interview out of context. First, the CC’s spokesperson being unaware of anyone who drank that water doesn’t mean that he has the right to express doubt that it actually happened. A few days ago, there were cars full of water bottles and tens of thousands of people saw them and drank water from them. It would have been understandable for people to have been thankful for this, but not for people to not see anything outside of their own perspectives.
Besides this, when protests began in the city, thousands of our team members actively participated. Our team member Armen Nersisyan, who came to Republic Square with a few thousands of our other teammates at the orders of Gagik Tsarukyan, held speeches and spoke about problems everyone was worried about during those days. You can speak about the events of those days with Armen Nersisyan himself, who will describe Gagik Tsarukyan’s support in detail.
Armen Nersisyan was only one of our many teammates who was a part of the process of getting people from the regions to Yerevan to participate in the protests at the orders of Gagik Tsarukyan. I wouldn’t have been forced to discuss these details, if I didn’t realize that there are some people who are trying to unsuccessfully underestimate Gagik Tsarukyan’s support of the revolution.
