On January 14, the work of first session of the RA NA Seventh Convocation began.
On the occasion of the opening of the first session His Holiness, Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and the Catholicos of All Armenians and the President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian and congratulated the MPs and addressed welcoming remarks to them.
In accordance with the Paragraph 3 of Article 33 of the Constitutional Law of the RA NA Rules of Procedure, the newly elected deputies had sworn in.
As a result of the NA elections, three political forces passed into the parliament: Alliance of My Step Parties, the Prosperous Armenia and Bright Armenia Parties. The deputies’ total amount is 132. In accordance with the provisions of the relevant article of the law of the RA NA Rules of Procedure, 3 factions will function in the parliament of the seventh convocation.
7 items are included in the agenda: the creation of the Accounting Committee, the election of the National Assembly President, the elections of the National Assembly Vice Presidents, the creation of the Standing Committees, the elections of the Chairs of the Standing Committees, the debate of the draft law on the change of the Government structure and the approval of the Government programme.
