‘No revolution took place in Armenia in April’

February 11,2019 20:17

Actress Tamar Hovhannisyan does not consider the events that took place in Armenia last April to be a revolution.

“If several sectors and structures were not subject to change after the events of last April, if there are no evaluations for the authorities who were in power until then and who were the reason why the people had a revolution, then it is difficult to call this a revolution,” the actress told reporters, noting the fact that the justice system has remained largely the same.

Hovhannisyan also does not consider what happened to be a change in government, but simply replacements.

Co-founder of the Armenian European party Tigran Khzmalyan agrees with the actress.

Tamar Hovhannisyan responded to police chief Valery Osipyan’s explanation that he is against granting clemency to the members of Sasna Tsrer, since he lost friends during the invasion of the police regiment.

“The ‘Bringer of Bread’ was also my friend. I also lost a friend,” Tamar Hovhannisyan said.
