The peaceful protesters requested in Armenian, English, Italian, and German that the embassy employees come outside, stand with Armenians, and demand that their countries carry out the appropriate measures to condemn Azerbaijan and Turkey.
They hung up an Armenian flag near the embassy entrance.
They sang “Zartnir Lao,” “Gini Lits,” and the Armenian national anthem. Then, they closed off the street and allowed cars to pass that honked their horns in support. The protesters decided to use this method to get the attention of the employees at the Italian embassy.
The protesters said, “This means that your silence is in support of Turkey’s policies. No civilized country has the right to stay silent. This is a worldwide embarrassment. War crimes are being committed on all accounts at the Armenian borders. Banned weapons are being used against civilians, which the world is ignoring. Dear world, how are you going to respond? What are we going to tell future generations? You’re allowing us to face a genocide once again.”
The embassy finally responded to the protesters. The employees informed the protesters that the ambassador is not present and they will provide their stance at a later time.
