Recently, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Mevlut Cavusoglu, announced that Turkey signed three agreements with Russia regarding the Artsakh issue, which also were agreed upon by Azerbaijan. Until then, in any case, the majority of society was unaware of that, and I have some doubts that Russia agreed to anything regarding this sensitive issue with Armenia. Even more, I have some doubts that they even informed the Armenian authorities about these agreements. If it will benefit Russia, the Kremlin will make any agreement with Turkey not only regarding Artsakh, but Armenia as well. And when such Russian-Turkish decisions are accepted, we will be forced to implement them. But I am not willing to blame Russia here. That country simply is leading in accordance with its own interests and calculations, and we do not exist as a factor there. People making angry statements about how Artsakh needs to return to the negotiations table are simply bluffing.
We had a poor-quality state until 2018 due to its corrupt leadership. However, good or bad, state institutions still operated. After the revolution, we went the route of destroying those institutions because the new (non-corrupted) government believes that the country can be governed through PR and “running your mouth.” But please tell me whether or not having a sharp tongue will help the residents living in the bordering villages of Syunik whose homes, pastures, and arable lands are now targeted by the Azerbaijani army. Perhaps the only operating sectors of the state are the local governments. The village leaders are trying to organize people, lead fellow villagers who are confused by the GPS system, and even negotiate with Azerbaijanis. But it is not possible to place security issues on the shoulders of village leaders. As far as I know, we have a government whose representatives need to communicate and uphold people’s security and peaceful work. That is how I imagine the functions of the state.
Oh, I forgot. There are more important things to do, which include revealing the internal traitors through speeches and attacking all opponents on Facebook.
