“We did not have any POWs after 1994, and Azerbaijan would not have risked doing such a thing. I am not saying that shots were not fired or that they didn’t attempt to sabotage. All of that took place, but POWs?” the third President of Armenia and the president of the Republican Party, Serzh Sargsyan, said during a meeting with supporters of the I Have Honor alliance in the Aragatsotn Province. “And after that, this… I don’t know what to call him… dishonorable man says that our POWs will wait two more months. He became so insidious since he was forgiven for many things. But is that a person? Does he have a brain?” Serzh Sargsyan asked.
He continued, “Does he not understand that those people wait every day to see when they will be murdered, raped, and tortured? You have to spit on such a leader. I am saying now, he should go and give them his child in exchange for 20-25 POWs. I wonder if he would speak the same way about prisoners of war afterward. What difference does it make for him? He always used his children for his PR. At least we will now gain something from that; a few dozen soldiers will return. It’s clear, isn’t it, that he won’t do something like that? I repeat, he should give his Ashotik in exchange for 20-25 POWs.”
