July 11,2021 16:17

Another session of the Republican Party Executive Body took place on Friday, which was led by the president of the Republican party and the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan.

During the session, the post-election situation in the country was discussed in an extraordinary manner. The political party reaffirmed its position in the recent parliamentary elections.

The recent snap elections in Armenia were not a solution to this deep crisis. Within the context of recent developments and challenges in the region, it is not right to ignore the fundamental interests of Armenians. It is not right to view the destructive and unfair consequences of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan as a new occurrence. Republicans have not grown accustomed to this situation, and they announce again that the Artsakh issue has not been resolved, the people of Artsakh’s right to self-determination is not up for negotiation, and Armenia must remain a self-governing player in the region.

Facing the security challenges of Armenia and Artsakh and the challenges to Armenia’s sovereignty will continue to be a priority for the party. In order to reach this, the number one issue is the overthrow of the capitulation administration.

The prospects of the party’s participation in the upcoming local elections, as well as the need for the party’s structural, professional, and program reforms were discussed.

In the context of the current political developments in the country, a new wave of illegal arrests, renewed political persecution, and repression was condemned.
