Ararat Sargsyan, a resident of Jermuk, Vayots Dzor, had built a house and a bakery adjacent to it for a year. During the attack by Azerbaijan, both the house, the bakery, and the nursery, which is the only source of income for the family, were damaged. He mentioned that at the moment, neither his son, nor his wife, nor he is working.

“It’s a missile, it’s a projectile, I don’t know exactly, it fell in the part after which the rocket hit the building. It was such a powerful weapon that it went all the way inside. The inside is completely in the same state of ruin,” says Ararat Sargsyan, noting that they were at home that night. The house was hit on September 14, when no one was home. Mr. Ararat’s wife and son are in Yerevan, but he stays in Jermuk.

“Of course, I will stay here. Where should I go? This is my homeland.” The fact-finding group came and recorded the damage done to Mr. Ararat. He also applied to the Office of the Human Rights Defender, but he still has no information about what will happen. There were still fruits and four plates on the table in the house, which were completely covered in dust.

“The night we went out, I came back the next day at 8:30 a.m., they were shelling again. At that time, the shells were hitting the left bank, in the city, in Jermuk, and we didn’t even manage to collect what was there, we left it like that and left.” At the time of the evacuation, Ararat Sargsyan’s son tried to leave Jermuk by car, but he came under fire. “He lost control, the car overturned on the road. Right on the main road of Jermuk. There, it can be seen that the side of the road was burned, and the car overturned about 20 meters away. He managed to get out of the car.”
