Gurgen Arsenyan, deputy of the ruling faction, says that the people of Armenia were in precisely the same situation in the first half of the 90s for three years as the people of Artsakh were during these 25 days. It is only partially true. From the point of view of food, light, and heat, the situation is similar.
But there are two significant differences. 1/ In 1992-94, people could cross the border of Armenia in two directions. It also applied to cargo, including food, equipment, and weapons.
2/ In those years, the Armenian army was fighting in Artsakh, and we all hoped that a part of our homeland would be liberated due to that war.
Now the situation of the people of Artsakh is more complex, both psychologically and physically. It may be expected for an ordinary citizen of Armenia to say, “What happened, do endure.”

But when the CC deputy says something like that, it indicates the government’s attitude. However, not only the government. If most of our citizens did not agree with this government approach, now thousands of people would go out on the streets and demand the authorities to show a different state and human attitude towards our 120 thousand compatriots. But since there is no alarm, no outrage, or even no sympathy among the majority of society (only some Facebook posts), I’m inclined to assume that everything is OK for most of our citizens. And deep down is the following problem.
Today, millions of people worldwide are not interested in their nationality, for whom it is not essential who lives where, who owns the territory, and who is a citizen of which country. Among those millions, there are thousands of Armenians in Armenia and outside our state. In the case of such an approach, one can not pay attention to the problem of living in one’s native land. A good man is also good in Australia.
I don’t think that we Armenians are finally infected with those; let me say, senseless “ideas.” It seems to me to be a temporary blackout of the brain.
But there is no doubt that our problem is primarily internal.
