Viva-MTS sums up the financial results for 2023 and confirms its leadership in the sector

Subscribers

The Viva-MTS subscriber base as of December 31, 2023 reached to 2.32 million which increased by 2.2%. The majority use the Internet – 1.87 million subscribers: compared to the previous year, this number increased by 4.4%.

Compared to the last year, new activations increased by 6.2%, amounting to 650 thousand subscribers. In 2023, the company’s subscribers preferred the “UNLIM” tariff plan with AMD 4,500 activation fee. This tariff plan is also popular among tourists visiting Armenia due to the company’s best network coverage in the country.

Income

At the end of 2023, the company records and consistently high financial growth. Operating income increased by 5% compared to 2022, amounting to AMD 53.52 billion, and income from Internet services increased by 6.5%, amounting to AMD 27.21 billion.

Key metrics were improved by higher revenues from communication services, supported by a host of initiatives implemented as part of the company’s competent strategy, aimed at improving user experience and creating additional value for our clients. In particular:

 

  1. UNLIM” tariff plan has been launched
  2. Subscribers of tariff plans X and Y received 2 times more Internet and voice service packages
  3. Yandex+ subscription has become available to subscribers of tariff plans X and Y without additional fees, providing the opportunity to use a number of Yandex Plus digital services, including watching movies, listening to music, as well as more affordable tariffs when ordering a taxi.
  4. The “Recharge+” service has been improved, which allowed subscribers to use communication services worth up to 3,000 AMD and pay for them later.

 

Compared to the previous year, an unprecedented 40% increase in income from roaming services was recorded, which is associated with the convenience and accessibility of the VOYAGE service. Subscribers within the VOYAGE service in 2023 had an opportunity to use up to five times more Internet.

In 2023, the profit from cloud services reached to 96.4 million AMD, compared with the previous year, the number is increased by 91.4 %.

 

Capital expenditures/investments

The company’s capital expenditures in 2023 amounted to 10.49 billion AMD, an increase of 4% compared to last year, resulting in the company making its first investments in Armenia in 2023:

  1. The 5G network, which currently operates in the downtown of Yerevan and in Gyumri, the company plans to expand its availability in the coming years both in Yerevan and in the regions.

2. Innovative services VoLTE and VoWiFi (Wi-Fi Calling), which are available only to Viva-MTS clients, are used by more than half of the company’s subscribers. Our clients use the VoWiFi service both in Armenia and abroad, and the tariffs for this type of calls are the same as in the home network.

Also during 2023, Viva-MTS carried out large-scale re-equipment work aimed modernizing the 4G/LTE network. By the end of 2023, Viva-MTS has built more than 170 base stations operating using 4G/4G+ technology. As a result, 4G/4G+ coverage became available to 99.6% of the population.

CSR

In total, in 2023, Viva-MTS allocated 221 million 230 thousand AMD for social investments. Support of the National Autism Foundation, cooperation with the SORS Foundation, support for the educational ICT sector, environmental programs, as well as using new technologies to help reduce the burden on villages and mitigate the difference in development between the capital and the regions. The company continues to support the Paros choir, operating under the Unison NGO. As a leader in the field, Viva-MTS supports ICT projects that contribute to increasing the competitiveness of Armenia. Taxes

Viva-MTS, which always ranks first among all operators in the list of largest taxpayers, this year also topped the list, taking 13th place in the overall taxpayer rating. In 2023, the company paid taxes in the amount of 13,034,433,600 AMD, which is the highest among the companies working in this sector.
