Protocols ratify experience. How will response the ARF?

April 28,2015 13:49

According to Arman Melikyan, we still have to be able to solve the Armenian Genocide issue within the context of political modernization of our own interests.  Yesterday RA president said to CNN Turk. “If Turkey ratified the Protocols, everything would be different. To recall protocols from the Parliament was aimed at Turkey as a political message. We have not withdrawn our signature. If Turkey ratifies, we will ratify them too”.

-“Are the President’s expectations realistic, after the period when protocols were initially signed  and after the fact that the Turkish denial appeared against the wall again?”

-“Time plays strange games for the communities who have a per day surface perception of the phenomena. Today, we talk about the protocols more and these conversations are surrounded the ugly political bickering more than by their real content and the mutual authentication of two sides, moreover for the  expected adverse appropriate moral, legal and political consequences for Armenia. Without going into details of various kinds, just to remind you that the ratification by Armenia will mean that the newly independent Armenia is already approved and signed the Treaty of Moscow in the Russian-Turkish Treaty of Kars. In this context it is interesting to know how to respond the “Dashnaktsutyu”, which joyfully accepted protocols of the National Assembly calling on the President’s decision.

– On April 24, on the occasion of Armenians, the Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.

“… To put the responsibility on the Turkish nation is on its way to generalize hate or even speech agglutination causes problems in law and conscience as well.”

-“In your opinion, what is the allusion of Turkish official?”

– “This is one thesis the Turkish denial is based on, they want to share the responsibility for the countless victims of the genocide between the Turkish elite and killed Armenian people. Current Turkish officials say that times were hard, and the violence was mutual, and Armenians, perhaps, slaughtered even more Turks than Armenians and Turks were killed more than Armenians. This emphasis, in fact, says that Armenians and Turks are equally guilty and equally suffered from severe ill manners of the times and should not be demand and supply each other for what happened but it is necessary for peaceful coexistence, peace and solidarity together to find a resolution. But this resolution cannot be found in the arguments of distort reality: through hard times and under the cruel morals countless victims Armenians and Turks were killed by the Turkish state that implemented a policy of mass destruction of Armenians.  This was not a battle of two equal forces, but by the Turkish state`s attempt to destroy the Armenians who showed resistance to the limits of regular Turkish army and Kurdish irregulars that assisted them. Few units of our army were poorly armed and did not have sustainable replacement of supplies.”

– “January 28, Holocaust Memorial Day, the Israel’s president condemned genocides sanding at UN podium including the Khojaly Genocide. Official Erevan’s response was silence. Why? What should we do?”

-“First, recall that the Khojaly incident occurred in the initial stage of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, who became the target of active hostilities, and impartial investigation into the incident has not taken place. In the matter with Israel it should be taken into account the fact that the president has no practical political role and its legal and political point of view, these types of statements cannot have a substantial effect, and perhaps the problem was to stroke the Turkish side. However the reason for the appearance of such statements is that Armenian side started to deny the interests of Armenians who lived peacefully in Azerbaijan, Baku, Sumgait, and Kirovabad:  the massive ethnic cleansing that was organized against those Armenians but this case was not included in the negotiating agenda of political and legal focus. This is either due to our underdeveloped political or the result of being dependant. It may be the result of a combination of these two factors.

– “How would you characterize the Armenian Genocide resolution by the Knesset, what signal it should be for us?”

– “The discussion of the Armenian Genocide recognition in the Knesset is remarkable in the sense that theoretically it could lead to a positive aspect of our legal consequences. I do not think we can expect in the near future results, but these discussions from their political and legal significance are significant phenomenon for they were discussed at the Israeli Parliament not by the President.”

– “Why did only four Presidents receive Serzh Sargsyan invitation to participate on the 100th anniversary commemoration ceremony on April 24? How can you explain EEC member of Kazakhstan and Belarus, the neighboring Georgian presidents’ rejection?”

– “The number of people who came to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide of course, cannot be compared to the numbers of prime ministers, foreign ministers and the number of the speakers who arrived from  different countries in Paris, for example, to commemorate the brutal terror against  “Charles Ebdo” editorial. Let us leave alone the fact that Armenia’s political, economic and military terms with France is not comparable to the description, the more important it is that leaders came Paris to express their solidarity with the dangerous event against which everyone is willing to fight. It noted how urgent it was to neutralize substantial danger. While the Armenian Genocide issue within the context of political modernization must be solved taking into account our own benefits.
