It does not matter where you live

July 05,2016 12:05

An unknown to me producer had also enclosed a “political” type of announcement to the announcement on the sale of his house, reading, what a bad country is Armenia, and how great is his desire to leave this country. Usually, these conversations are accompanied by an overly emotional reaction by the people who either have left Armenia during the last 25 years or are going to leave, “How is it possible to live in your country?” “What, do we not have a place to speak out? Our heart also aches,” “if we do not send money to you, you will die of hunger,” “what about Armenia’s authorities …”, etc.

It is a very easy way to deliberately divert the conversation to other direction (I think it is called “trolling”), allegedly we, the livers in Armenia, are blaming the leavers for something and they are protecting themselves. There is no and cannot be such thing. Being born in Armenia and living here, being born in Armenia and then leaving Armenia, being born in another country and coming to Armenia, being born in Armenia, then leaving for another country and then coming back, in itself, do not speak of any human’s merits (in particular, patriotism) or demerits, it is neither applauded nor condemned. Under all these options being or not being an Armenian by origin is not also a merit or demerit. All people have the right to choose anyone of the options, in all options people can manifest themselves from positive or negative sides, under all these options they have the right to say good or bad things about Armenia or any other country in general and the country authorities in particular.

Living in a place or moving to a place absolutely means nothing. Importantly, HOW you live. Here, there might be different opinions. I, for instance, do not like a “conditional” love: I love you if … Irrespective of whether the matter is about a country or a person. In my opinion, it is a pure blackmail. For me, a similar blackmail is declaring, give me this, or else I will leave this country.

It is totally clear that if a person is offended, if he cannot demonstrate his professional abilities, if he is unable to feed his family or does not see his children’s future here, he wants to leave this country. Actually, there are two ways for all these cases: either to fight to create normal conditions for you and the rest, or to leave the country. But for the latter, you should not be engaged in PRing your move. Go away in silent. Or else, it leaves the impression that you want to “sell” your state of being offended to someone: “Hey man, put the seal and I will go.” But PRing own moves is also the right of every one. Perhaps, it is a matter of taste.
