“There is nothing amazing for me and I have imagined the RPA’s activities accordingly. It is another question as to what will happen after the completion of the president’s power in 2018. The answer is not given. As the president had not denied, I suppose that he will be run for the post of the prime minister,” said NA parliamentarian, leader of “Bright Armenia” party, Edmon Marukyan, in an interview with Aravot, referring to the statement made at the RPA Congress that in the upcoming parliamentary elections, in case of receiving a vote of confidence, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan will run for the prime minister of RPA.
We asked for an opinion about Armen Ashotyan’s observation that the other political parties must nominate their candidate for the prime minister. Edmon Marukyan informed that the “Bright Armenia” is discussing this issue and the final format of participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections is not yet decided. Our interlocutor also expressed an opinion that the Republican Party announcing about its candidate for the prime minister is trying to put pressure on the opposition.
