Round 5 of the Tata Steel chess tournament will start on Thursday after a rest day, where Armenian GM Levon Aronian will face the leader of the tournament Ukrainian Pavel Eljanov.
The Armenian played four consecutive draws in the previous rounds and seats at the 8th place of the tournament with 2 point.
Pavel Eljanov – named this year’s surprise of the tournament – has 3,5 points and solely heads the table, followed by World Champion Magnus Carlsen and Wesley So with 3.0 point each.
Round 5 games will kick off at 17:00 Yerevan time.
