March 25,2017 02:29

“Making the settlement of the Artsakh issue a provision for the election campaign, I think, is absolutely a right move.  Peace has an exceptional value and importance, and at what price it will be achieved, it is the other side of the question,” said the parliamentary candidate for the “Tsarukyan” Alliance, PANM Board Chairman Ararat Zurabyan, in an interview with Aravot.am, commenting on ANC President, Leader of the “Congress-PPA” Alliance Levon Ter-Petrosian’s recent interview.  Recall that the Alliance is carrying out the election campaign with an emphasis on the importance of concession option for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the “Madrid principles”.

“The Nagorno-Karabakh is able to defend its security, and agreeing to unilateral concessions is very dangerous.  The calls for unilateral concessions generate enthusiasm in Azerbaijan.  They do not give anything positive to the Armenian side.  The Artsakh fate must be determined by the people of Artsakh.  It is up to the latter to what extent to agree to the concessions,” said Ararat Zurabyan.  In contrast to the allegations by “Congress-PPA”, Zurabyan notes that Azerbaijan actually is not ready for concessions.  Out interlocutor also referred to the first president’s characterization that in addition to the “Congress-PPA” Alliance, other political forces do not have a clear program on Artsakh.  “It is not so,” disagreed Ararat Zurabyan.
