Armenian GM Levon Aronian claimed an impressive victory at the final round of Altibox Norway Chess Tournament held in Stavanger, Norway, winning the grand tournament.
As the Chess Federation of Armenia told Panorama.am, the Armenian player scored 6 out of 9 points, being one point ahead of Vladimir Kramnik and Hikaru Nakamura, who share 2-3 positions. Throughout the tournament, Aronian suffered no defeats, outplaying world champion Magnus Carlsen, Vladimir Kramnik and Sergey Karjakin.
Due to this victory, Levon Aronian has improved his personal rating by 15.5 and is back on the 4th place of the world ranking.
