Why to be punished

July 05,2018 12:41

The crimes should not remain unpunished because we dislike this or that person and want to harm him. It is a wrong motivation. The violations of law should not remain unpunished to reduce the risk of being repeated in the future, especially in case of crimes such as “March 1”. I do not doubt that the Second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan should be punished for those murders in the first place.

But frankly speaking, what the Special Investigation Service has announced is not enough, and moreover, it includes unnecessary political elements. For example, “Mikayel Harutyunyan signed the secret order N. 0038, which was evidently illegal, on February 23, 2008.” Such a description of the order is probably incorrect, they should reformulate their sentence, the provisions of the law according to which the order is considered illegal should be mentioned clearly. SIS statement also reads that in the consequence of March 1 incidents “the international credit of the Republic of Armenia was severely damaged.” It is also a complete truth, but a question arises – why is the Special Investigation Service concerned with the international credit of the country, which, I believe, should speak in a rough and legal language.

Besides all of that, “March 1” case was to be reopened, all criminals should be punished for the sake of the future on the first place: this moment onward not a president, not a prime minister, defence minister and chief of police should use the police, moreover – the army – to solve political issues.

The executive director of “Hayastan All Armenian Fund”, who frankly speaking did not make an impression of a gamer and stealer, should be punished not because he should serve as an example to other people not to dare to use someone else’s money (even temporarily) for personal reasons, but for our brothers abroad to be convinced that their donations will henceforth appear in safe hands. If our oligarchs and their bodyguards continue beating people and then bribe them, threaten and blackmail, then it will happen again tomorrow and no one will have a wish to refuse the behavior of a “good boy”.

A trial should take place once, even a mild one. And after that, the oligarchs will stop underestimating us – the ordinary people.
