The ARF political party’s mayor candidate, Mikayel Manukyan, voted at the 9/45 polling station. He spoke to reporters about the pre-election campaigns and evaluated them as being sufficient. “The elections were heavily politicized and were a lot like national elections or elections for Prime Minister. The prime minister’s participation in the elections diverted the process,” Mikayel Manukyan said.
According to him, Nikol Pashinyan’s participation politicized the elections, since he presented the issue of whom he will be voting for. “That’s not making use of the administrative lever, right? Since he would always hold speeches while participating in the “My Step” alliance’s gatherings.”
In Mikayel Manukyan’s opinion, the ARF had been targeted since the beginning, but it’s not clear who or what political force did the targeting. “Once it became clear that I’m the mayor candidate of the ARF, stories started being shared that had nothing to do with me. Once, it was even said that I had resigned from my candidacy.”
The ARF candidate thinks that all citizens have high self-awareness and will vote with their conscience.
