Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Acting Minister of Diaspora Mkhitar Hayrapetyan visited the “Breath of Syrian culture in Yerevan” charity exhibition-fair on Northern Avenue on October 17th. Nikol Pashinyan spoke to Syrian-Armenians and saw the work that they presented.
Mkhitar Hayrapetyan said that the exhibition-fair was organized by the Ministry of Diaspora with the help of several NGOs and the Municipality of Yerevan, and its goal was to promote Syrian-Armenians’ socioeconomic integration in Armenia. “When I visited an exhibition on Armenian Independence Day, Syrian-Armenians told me that one of their biggest problems was renting pavilions. They asked me to find any solution to this issue.” He added that about 4 dozen Syrian-Armenians will have pavilions in the “Tashir Street” shopping center. The first three months will be free, and after that, instead of paying 60,000 drams, Syrian-Armenians will pay 30,000 drams monthly.
“We are doing our best so that Syrian-Armenians integrate, become full members of society, and have jobs. One of our biggest priorities is trying to figure out what exactly we can do for them.”
