Pashinyan: ‘Shahnazaryan, led by Sargsyan, had policies to return Artsakh for ten years’

November 27,2018 21:30

“I am convinced that Davit Shahnazaryan, led by Serzh Sargsyan, had policies to return Artsakh for ten years. Why? One time, when I was still a deputy, I said that Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharyan inherited an army in 1999 from Vazgen Sargsyan that was the most advanced in the region,” Acting Prime Minister, head of the My Step alliance election ballot Nikol Pashinyan said during a rally in Stepanavan regarding RPA deputy candidate Davit Shahnazaryan’s statements about the army. The snap parliamentary elections are to take place on December 9th.

He continued, “Has anyone heard someone say during the administrations of Kocharyan or, even more so, Serzh Sargsyan that the Armenian Armed Forces was the most advanced in the region? They didn’t, because Serzh Sargsyan said that our army is using weapons from the 1980s in 2016. This is the result of betrayal. If you are interested as to why, let me ask: why can Serzh Sargsyan’s brother be a millionaire, but the army has to fight with weapons from the 1980s? Why can Kocharyan have millionaire relatives, but the army has to fight with weapons from the 1980s?”

Pashinyan continued his questions, “Why should the former head of the State Revenue Committee, Gagik Khachatryan, be a millionaire, but the army has to fight with ‘80s weapons?”
