Acting Prime Minister of Armenia and head of the My Step alliance Nikol Pashinyan spoke about the legal process against former Minister of Nature Protection Aram Harutyunyan during a campaign rally. He described it as being “the largest corrupt case in the history of the Third Republic of Armenia.”
The General Prosecutor’s office appealed to the National Assembly using bribery as a basis for opening a criminal case, but the quota was not upheld in the National Assembly and the issue was not discussed.
Regarding this, Nikol Pashinyan said, “What were you thinking? Were people going to unnecessarily come to work and leave? Fourteen million… but the quota was not upheld in the National Assembly so that the issue could be resolved. That is why we dissolved that parliament.”
According to Pashinyan, Aram Harutyunyan will lose his immunity as a deputy after the parliamentary elections on December 9th, and the criminal case against him will continue.
“Fourteen million dollars and that was for that one case. Look at your roads, schools, soldiers…” the Acting Prime Minister said.
