For the prospective specialists of the IT sphere not to emigrate, the sphere of Information technologies is one of the priorities of the Armenian government. This has been announced by the current government. And despite the fact that in recent years the sphere of information technologies has undergone substantial development in Armenia, however, the specialists of the sphere believe that the new government has to do a lot of revolutionary work in this area as well. UX design (User Experience Design) specialist Anush Torozyan is also of this opinion, who is currently UX consultant at the American leading company GoDaddy, engaged in the registration of domains.
In the interview with www.aravot.am, Anush Torozyan says, that thanks to qualified specialists, the sphere of information technologies has great prospects for development in Armenia, but the state, in its turn, should create greater opportunities to develop the sphere. Previously Anush Torozyan worked in the company of PicsArt as a lead UX Architect, and specialized in the work, not by getting education at some Armenian university, but through online courses, as far as there are no UX design specialization courses in our educational institutions. As Anush explains, with her work she helps the users to understand the product and solve the occurring problems through the UX design, as well as more accurately present, for instance, this or that program, website, so that people won’t have difficulties while using them.
Anush Torozyan graduated from Yerevan State Pedagogical University, department of art education, she is a painter by profession. She has started to work in the sphere of IT since her university years. ”As far as I was studying as a painter-designer, and was greatly interested in innovative technologies, I started studying computer design. I have been working as a painter-designer since the age of 17, for quite many years I have worked in the field of games. I can mention the startup created in Tumo, one of the goals of which was to give an opportunity to Tumo students to try their strengths in real projects and work. The startup debut was the game ”Play Room,” the whole design and concept of which was my idea. The game acquired thousands of users in a few weeks and was included in the list of the best games by Google.

I have also worked in the field of branding and marketing, helping a number of Armenian leading companies to create their corporate style.” According to the sphere specialist, there is a great demand for UX designers in Armenia as well, but because of the lack of educational programs this sphere is not developing, and those interested in the sphere don’t make progress, which is the reason for the Armenian specialists to stay behind foreign specialists with their knowledge and experience: ”For example, I would say that the main differences between Armenian and American companies is the level of being informed, as the chances are more in the USA to study and to develop. In our country there are currently very few options for the young people to learn the newest technologies, especially the UX design.”
Anush Torozyan, who has succeeded in her work, encourages to create more opportunities at universities for young people to get education in that area. ”Future belongs to the newest technologies. I would like us to pay great attention to this circumstance in Armenia and would like the universities to have courses, as the youth is highly interested in it, they write to me a lot, asking how they can get that knowledge, and apply to me so that I teach them. I wish there was an educational institution, where young people could get that education and could find a job, as it is highly required. This is also necessary for our talented and greatly prospective young people to have the opportunity to grow in their country, not to emigrate, which will also be a contribution to the development of our country.”
