EU NEIGHBOURS . In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the EU and the United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine have donated 15,000 N95 valveless respirators to four medical facilities in Donetsk region.
The personal protective equipment was purchased with financial support from the EU under the UN Recovery and Peacebuilding Programme, thanks to the ongoing partnership with European partners to help medical facilities in eastern Ukraine.
N95 respirators are designed to block up to 95% of aerosol particles. They filter out viruses and bacteria, and provide better protection than surgical masks or homemade protective equipment.
