During a rally on Baghramyan Avenue today, Arpine Hovhannisyan, a member of the Homeland Salvation Movement’s council, first apologized to Armenian society for voting in favor of Armen Sarkissian’s presidency in 2018. “But my conscience is clear; I did not praise him, nor was I happy. I thought that he perhaps has a lot of experience, and as a young person, I do not have the right to criticize the path someone has taken. After the events of 2018, I perhaps became the toughest of his critiques. Many people were saying that I was one of the people who brought him to power, so why am I complaining? I want to share this with you. In general, there is no one who has never made a mistake. People are fallible. But there are important situations in life where you must understand that making mistakes comes at a cost- a very high cost. The cost of what all officials did after the war is extremely high.”
Arpine Hovhannisyan said that Armen Sarkissian forgot what his job title consists of. “He is working as the president for Nikol Pashinyan. Now, I ask that you also consider him a traitor because he earned the label of a traitor. He was unable to keep his own promise.”
