“They are talking about enclaves, but as the first step, they are saying that Armenia should recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. In other words, demarcation and delimitation need to occur, and Artsakh being occupied. I believe that no adequate government will take such steps,” a member of the Armenian delegation to PACE and deputy Naira Zohrabyan told reporters during a briefing in parliament regarding the statement made by the head of the Azeri delegation in PACE that Azerbaijan will return Armenian POWs if Armenia recognizes Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
She expressed hope that the current authorities will not accept the option Azerbaijan is pushing forward: to create a peace agreement and recognize Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity. “That is how we will close off the options of having an Armenian Shushi, Armenian Hadrut, and Armenian Karvachar. Azerbaijan’s preconditions are unacceptable.”
