“Our team is the people of the Republic of Armenia, who voted for us. If the people say: no, you know what, we don’t accept your vision, we will leave and give way to the force whose vision will be accepted”, said Alen Simonyan, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament, in a conversation with journalists in the National Assembly. The journalists reminded that the citizens of Armenia gave the Civil Contract Party a mandate for peace because it presented itself with that agenda, but it did not bring peace, so they didn’t want to resign.
Alen Simonyan answered. “We have brought peace, we are bringing peace, and we are working towards peace. When they are dissatisfied with our work, we are in touch, and they will tell us we will leave. And the task of the opposition mass media and opposition figures is to accuse us. There is one judge, and the decision maker is the people of the Republic of Armenia.”
Speaking about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s statements and theses on the Karabakh issue, Alen Simonyan said. “What the Prime Minister of Armenia said the other day, I sign under everything he said. I know what was said, why it was said; I fully support it.”
Referring to the incident of Azerbaijanis entering Armenia, as a result of which an Armenian was killed, the Speaker of the National Assembly said that they often get lost in those areas; it could be someone from Armenia.

When the journalists reminded that the Azerbaijani declared on a live broadcast that we did well, we killed the Armenians, Alen Simonyan replied: “He hit his head against the wall; he is a scoundrel, I have nothing to add.”
