Disagreements with Azerbaijan on the issue of de-blockade are technical. The President of the Parliament

There is a common understanding between Azerbaijan and Armenia on the issue of unblocking the roads, but the differences are technical. NA President Alen Simonyan announced in a conversation with journalists. “There is a general perception. In my understanding, it is about movement within one state. The main red line in Azerbaijan’s position is that it does not move from its own country to a third country when going from Baku to Nakhichevan.

That, in their view, implies that there should be an easier version. As well as whenever we go down to Meghri from Yerevan through the Nakhichevan area. Our attitude is that we are in favor of unblocking all roads. If we are talking about peace, then setting harsh preconditions, living forever in the logic of not reducing tension… If we are going to live in a state of war, that way, whatever it is, will be meaningless. It would be good for the Azerbaijani side to understand all this,” said Alen Simonyan.

According to the RA NA Speaker, Azerbaijan wants to get as much as possible from the situation, which is understandable. “They probably don’t want to repeat the mistakes we had in the early 1990s. At the same time, I think they make their own mistakes; they don’t consider many things, but history will show that.”

Speaking about the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace treaty, Alen Simonyan said that the security guarantees of Artsakh are the most complex and vital issues in the ongoing negotiations. He added that they would have signed the peace agreement 3-4 times if these issues were not there. By the way, he considers that now they have brought Artsakh to a status where they are trying to make it a part of the negotiation process in some format, but no one is talking about it.
